There is no official word from Apple as to the iPad 3 release date. However, rumor mills indicate that the iPad 3 will be launched sometime around March 2012. Reports also state the trial production is very likely to start around December 2011 – January 2012. One of the primary reasons as to why the launch of the iPad 3 device has been delayed is due to the delays in the implementation of the Retina Display technology. It is also rumored that the iPad 3 could be delayed because of ongoing legal issues with one of Apple’s main suppliers, Samsung.

All of these statements, till date, happen to be mere rumors and speculations. In order to find out just how much actual truth is there in these claims, we have no option other than to wait for an official communication to be issued from the Apple headquarters, by calling for a press conference.

Digital Cameras: Why Are Prices So High Now?

When did the cost of camera equipment get to be so pricey? As someone who has always dabbled in photography, I have a rather extensive collection of 35mm equipment that used to be worth a pretty penny. Between the camera bodies, lenses and other accessories, I probably dropped over $3,000 on the various components over the years.

Now that film cameras are in the same class as dinosaurs, I find that I really need to get rid of my 35mm equipment and invest in a good digital camera. I’ve been pricing the Canon cameras and am shocked at how much they cost. The one that I am looking costs well over $600, and that is just for the camera body: it does not include a lens! The lens I want is also costing around $600, and so I have to make a decision if I really want to spend that much money. I could always spend $100 or at most, $200, and get a point-and-shoot model camera. But I like the experience of being creative, and am excited about the possibilities of getting my digital darkroom back in operation. So I am going to bite the bullet (so to say) and start saving my pennies so I can buy the Canon T3i DSLR camera.

Once I’m done, I will have spent over $1,200. But it’s something I’ve thought about for a long time and will bring me years of pleasure. Now, if I could only find someone who wants to buy some almost antique 35mm equipment! That would make me feel better about my purchase. On top of all of this, I won’t even get started on the hotel costs when I have to go to a gig! All in all, while the prices can be rather frustrating, it’s best to compare a few models before making a true decision.
